Adults

I offer once or twice weekly sessions of 50 minutes each. I invite you to tell me whatever is on your mind so that together we can identify patterns and deeper underlying meanings.

People often ask me what kind of psychotherapy I practice. I trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, which taught me that the healing process takes place within the therapeutic relationship. Experience has shown me that this is true, so the most important thing is that we feel we can trust each other and search together for the deeper truths.

Adults often come to therapy when something is pulling them backwards into the past. Sometimes they are suffering with depression, anxiety, loneliness or toxic relationships. Sometimes they have become trapped in vicious cycles like addictions or eating disorders in an attempt to cope with psychic pain. Other times people might just feel that something is missing, or that their lives are so full of excitement and change, things feel overwhelming.

Psychotherapy can help people to work through emotional difficulties, make self-assured decisions and live a more authentic life.

Artists and Writers

'Artists are driven by the tension between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide.' W.D. Winnicott

With a background in literature and film, I believe creativity is the route to psychic healing. I'm talking about the creativity involved in dreaming, bringing ideas into reality and living an authentic life.

I have extensive experience of working with artists, writers and theatre practitioners. Creative people are often curious about the unconscious and open to its communications in fantasy and dreams. However, sometimes unconscious messages are frightening, confusing or overwhelming.

Therapy can help you to understand your internal experience and navigate the turbulent waters of the creative life. It can also help you to deal with the demands of adapting your inner ideas to outer reality.
